It works, but after a while the sound of the virus goes awful...Like a blown speaker or something. The external outputs work fine but the usb outputs sound awful. I can restart the program and the virus and it sounds fine for a bit...
unfortunately external instrument doesn't allow you to use external inputs with VirusControl...
has anyone had similar problems or any insight in this situation...
ps i'm on a mac...
Is anyone having trouble with live 7 and the virus ti...

Friend of mine had similar problems with virus ti and cubase sx. He almost went mad about it. Turned out to be a hardware-problem of the usb-chip within the ti. The guys at Access could identify it with the ti's serial number, so obviously it is a known problem, although may be a rare one.
On PCs it may be also a problem with USB-settings (disable: 'USB may turn of device to save current' or something like it). Don't know about Mac though.
hope it may help

Re: Is anyone having trouble with live 7 and the virus ti...
Been running 7.0.1 with Ti Polar (OS 2.5.1) on an oldish PC (3.2Ghz P4 2GB Corsair RAM) for a few days now and it's been absolutley rock solid. 16 Ti Polar Tracks coming into Live all bang on time. Nice! btw I use the Ti Polar as my soundcard for Live so MIDI and AUDI come into live via 1 USB cable.
Heard a few people currently having probs with mac setups (forum link below). People blame the Ti OS but 9 times out of 10 its a computer problem or DAW setting problem. There have been a couple of minor probs with previous Ti OS's way back but Access ALWAYS fix these very quickly with a free update. In fact I have never had to pay for a Ti OS/Virus Control update ever and each update offers not only bug fixes and UI improvements but major functionality additions to the Virus Control VSTi. The amount of high quality presets you get pre-loaded is just ridiculous, literally thousands and if that is not enough thousands more on their website. Add all that up and its easily worth £1499.
Check this forum for help with your issue (read by access bods) http://virusti.com/forum/index.php?s=3b ... ct=SF&f=10
For an immediate responce though log a call with Access, they have very, very decent tech support.
