seems like quite a lot of processor activity for so few tracks, you might follow the instructions posted in this thread: cpu usage with ableton 7 on a mac book with 2gig on how to see how much CPU/memory your active processes are consuming and report back your findings.

how much RAM do you have?

Not normal CPU usage

I just loaded up a set that uses ten tracks and CPU usage is less than 10%. We have similar setups and even before I tried it out I thought your usage was unusual.

What is the instrument you're using?
Do you have many effects on tracks?

You would have to be running a lot of stuff to use that much CPU.

I narrowed iit down to using a beat repeat effect on an audio track in an older arrangement ..It seemed to be affecting the cpu useage over a large range.i have since tried a couple of other arrangements and they seem fine. Thanks for your response.

Hello,

Could you send me the faulty set, without samples, to [email protected]? It may help identifying a problem.
