Post by parke02 » Wed Dec 05, 2007 7:14 pm

I have the Lil Phatty setup as an external instrument. I get HUGE cpu spikes whenever i move the mod wheel.

I can think of two reasons that this might happen:

1. A midi feedback loop. Have you turned local off and merge off on your LP? I don't know the LP at all, but the Voyager allows the midi input to be passed through to the output if merge is set to on. That may cause some horrible midi data feedback.

2. The Voyager sends 14 bit midi messages on its control wheels. The LP may do the same. It maybe that this is too much information for Live and your midi interface to handle. The Voyager allows you an option to send 7 bit information only. The LP may have a similar menu option too.

This sounds like a known problem the Abes are working on regarding Midi signals being sent that cause glitches or cpu spikes. Still no update yet so keep waiting.
