bass drop using tension portamento?

Post by diablodale » Fri Dec 07, 2007 12:49 am

Hi. I've got a bass sound I like in tension. I would like to make a slow ramp down bass note going from A0 to A-1 over 8 beats. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get that to occur using tension.

I made a loop with a 4 beat A0 followed by a 4 beat A-1. made the loop 8 beats long to include those two notes. I turned on tension portamento, chose proportional. And nothing. It plays the two notes jumping immediately to each one with no "glide" between them.

Any ideas?

Unfortunately the AAS-based synths have quite a few common ommisions in there, and since Tension is Physical Modelling it can be a bit frustrating to not have it respond in the way that one would normally like.

I would just cut through the phys-mod bullcrap and sample it, only to do the pitch drop in an audio clip. Might even sound cooler, anyways.

Cheers,
Andreas.
