hi.
is it posible to automate controls using steps rather then a continous control with midi in live?
for example automate a slider with the values 0 to 100 to increment in steps of 10 ( 10, 20, 30.....100 ) instead of the 'smooth' automation it has normally.
thanx!!
MIDI incrementing bigger automation steps?

I don't know if this is the best solution, but it's one of my two workarounds for this type of situation.
If you're on a PC (this can be accomplished on a MAC too, of course) you can download Bome's Midi Translator (or likewise) and let it intercept the midi cc at certain points (10, 20, 20... 120, Etc. Etc.) and to transmit only those values.
They will jump in Ableton but will give you the desired effect.
If you have enough buttons, you can also assign those a midi cc and a fixed velocity (10, 20, and so on) to each button; Thus acting as a trigger, jumping values, and giving you (again) the desired effect.
Hope you'll understand.
I will be glad to offer screenshots and a better tutorial of needed. Let me know if this helps you!
