Degraded performance on MacOSX Leopard
Degraded performance on MacOSX Leopard
Hi, since I've upgraded to Leopard, I have a lot of tracks that worked wonderfully before that now have a lot of audio dropouts, even at only 30%-40% cpu. I'm using a macbook 2.1 Ghz. Does anybody have the same problem? It is really bugging me and I think I will go back to tiger pretty soon.
EDIT: Both with Live6 and Live7

Fresh install better
I noticed a few strange things across the entire system after upgrading not just Live. I have solved them all with a fresh install of leopard.
Ultimately i think this is the most time efficient solution.

I decided to install a fresh version of Leopard on my Powerbook G4. It seems my powerbook has come back to life, everything is much faster now, on Tiger with Live 5 I was getting 33%-43% on Live 6 I was getting around 30%-40% on Live 7 I am getting about 27%. For me thats a lot of improvement in processor handling. So try backing up your stuff and doing a fresh new leopard install, that might solve your issue if it doesnt well you restore from backup and get things back the way they were.
Ohh have you tried Disk Defragmenting. I know and have read that is not necessary but having so many files being moved and install on the Leopard Upgrade might have some free space spread all over the place. It might be also a possible solution.
