Security guard credits God for helping her pull the trigger, keep her calm and steady

If she hadn't had a gun, God may have had to have resorted to turning her into a Ninja to get the job done. Luckily, she was armed. Made his job easy.

When I first heard about this story. I was saddened by the murder, and the murder of the murderer. Someone needs to rebuke that woman, and the pastor who claims she is a hero. Christ wouldn't let Peter kill or even maim to save Him. This is sad.

it's Colorado, they love god, they love guns. it's a win-win for them. the only thing better in their eyes would be if the shooter was gay and/or from California or Texas.

I don't understand where you guys are coming from. What exactly was she supposed to do? Try to talk him down?

Before the guy came into the church he opened fire on a family in the parking lot killing two girls, aged 16 and 18 and wounding their father. The lady opened fire on him as he came in the church. 12 hours prior he opened fire in another church killing two other people and critically wounding one.

Now, I'm not what you would call a religious man, but if I were in that church and happened to be armed myself you can bet I would have put two in that guys chest and one in his head if he so much as flinched once hitting the floor. And I can guarantee you I would have thanked god after - not for the opportunity to open fire on some nut job, but for being able to walk away from it safely and because more people were not hurt.

I do see the irony in it though. One thing I wonder is what kind of church employs armed security guards? Well, if they ever need an argument to do so they certainly have one now.

It's tragic though, really - the whole thing. These two dead girls, their father laid up in the hospital just beofre christmas recovering from gunshot wounds and dealing with the loss of two teenage daughters. And the guy that did this, why did he do it? What went wrong? So so sad, the whole thing.

Free advice: If you are inclined to imaginary friends, it is of utmost importance to remember to name it 'God' and not something like 'Larry'. Sanitariums are crowded and creepy.

You're missing my point. I make fun of retardedly religious people. It's one thing to thank God for keeping your ass alive after having a shoot out with a wacko. But to credit him for actually doing the job himself seems a bit silly to me.

The mother fucker who walked into the church could say the exact same thing.

Hence, I'm not buying any of it.

He was fucked in the head, she did what she was trained to do. That makes a bit more sense to me.

Nah, I'm not missing your point, really. That's why I said I do see the irony in it.

People have different way's of dealing with shit and I suppose that's this lady's way of coping with such a traumatic experience.

thanking god for a touchdown or Grammy is one thing, thanking god for holding your hand still enough to take a life is disturbing. I get where she's coming from, "thank god we're OK and I was able to perform", it's just creepy to read.

I dated a chick whose grandmother would pray EVERYTHING, common stuff like green lights when we would drive around town. it was enough to make me want to jerk the wheel and drive headlong into oncoming traffic.

True believers believe their every move and decisions are put forward by god for them. It's also great for not taking credit when that's needed.

Why? I do that, pray all the time. I keep it pretty simple, 99.9% of the time my prayers simply consist of three words, "thank you god" and that's about it. I say it on a beautiful morning when I'm feeling great, and I say it on a shitty morning when I'm feeling down. I give thanks no matter what - but that's just me. I don't expect other people to understand because it's my thing, a personal thing.

Anyway, like I said, I see the irony but I don't see where it's creepy. But to each their own.
