Live crashes on Video Export

Post by gavspav » Tue Dec 11, 2007 8:53 am

I warp a quicktime movie in arrangement view.

Go to export it as an avi. Try to change the codec settings....

And Live crashes.

Not only that but it leaves an unkillable process running and I have to reboot.

And I have no USB devices attached!

Aargh. Annoying.

video export crashes

Post by djdope » Tue Dec 11, 2007 4:12 pm

i got the same problem - - - Exporting video works fine with the presets like AVI and QuickTime, but the moment I hit edit on the encoder settings, the program either freezes or shuts down and disappears instantly. This really sucks as I bought v7 to be able to stretch video into time and export, and the default settings are very crap quality. are they gonna sort this shiz out?

I discovered (with the help of the tech support) that it was a quicktime problem.

In fact exporting from the quicktime player caused it to hang.

I backdated to QT7.1 and it works for the moment.

Also a sneaking suspicion mine might be to do with Nvidia drivers.

I have the same proplem.

Exporting with standard settings works, when I want to adjust them, Live prompts: "Serious programm error occured. Live will shut down after this message is closed." or something similar.
But I do not know where to get Quicktime 7.1.
Im running on Live 7.07 and Quicktime-Player 7.5 at the moment.

(I also own an Invidia graphics card)

Any Ideas?

I'll keep testing, whats possible and whats not.

What the...???

Somehow it is working now. Exported video with all types available in the dropdown list:

FLC: works
Pic. sequence: works
DV stream: works
AVI: works
Quicktime: works too, now
Interframe compressed VR object movie (whatever that is...): does not work. "Quicktime-error -50 occured during render" (or similar, of course this was prompted to me in german...)

Perhaps Quicktime works now, because I rebooted after installing Quicktime-Plyer 7.5?

I guess I can live with this, I do not even know what "Interframe compressed VR object movie" is...

I'll come back if the error appears again.

I also have Live 7.05 disappearing if I try to edit video codec properties when exporting as .AVI. (but not the sound properties of the video export.)

On the laptop I also get it with quicktime export under the same circumstances ( clicking on edit video codec properties.)

It's a guaranteed Poof, gone every single time.

Cheers,
