I have been a Cubase SX3 user for 2 years and I have been demoing Ableton Live for a couple of days as a potential replacement for Cubase. I set up the audio settings in Ableton just as I did in Cubase. I am using the E-MU ASIO driver that came with my E-MU 0404 PCI sound card. When I first start using Ableton, there seems to be no latency issues. Then, as I get to about 15 minutes of using the product, I start noticing some latency and it seems to get worse from there. I never had any problems with any other music software.
Any known issues with the E-MU sound cards/drivers and Ableton Live 7? Anything I can do to resolve this issue? Please let me know ASAP because I will be making my decision on replacing Cubase very soon.
Thanks

Check Live's preferences. There is a series of small triangles to the left of each midi port that Live sees. Click the arrow to see additional options for each midi port.
Once you do you'll probably notice that the DirectSound option is showing for your midi port. Click on it to change to MME. That fixed my latency issues immediately.
Hope this helps.
