how can I set up this macro function?

Post by Sean S » Wed Dec 12, 2007 5:33 pm

hello all,

I am interested in setting up a specific macro function.

I would like to control the on/off of the autofilter and the cutoff rate with a single knob.

I honestly don't know how to work with macros very well - I can't seem to figure out how to define specific commands. I know it's a lot to ask, but if someone could give me step-by-step instructions on how to do this, i would be so very greatful.

What I would like to do is this:
The knob, when at position 127, keeps the autofilter off. If I crank the knob to any position 126-0, the autofilter is automatically turned on and positions 126-0 control the frequency. returning the knob to 127 turns the autofilter back off

I tried fooling around with the macro's, but so far I can only have the the knob turn off/on the device at the 50% mark - that is to say it's turning on/off at the center of the sweep, not at one end like I need it.

thanks!

If you place the autofilter in a rack and then midi learn the chain selector you should be able to choose the signal to go through the autofilter at 0-126 then off at 127, then map the same knob within the autofilter itself to control the cut off....

I think?

Cheers
