MidAir 37 midi map help

Post by cheesenuggett » Fri Dec 14, 2007 5:33 pm

Hey everyone, so this is my problem:

i have 8 knobs and 9 faders and they are all assignable. i used a program (midiOX) to check if i can assign them in ableton, and they are most definitely CC midi messages. but when i go into ableton and attempt to use MIDI MAP on any of the knobs and faders, nothing happens....

is there an explanation?

in particular i'm trying to assign coarse A-D to knobs as well as the mod rate of the LFO

what can i do?

does the MidAir show up as a midi interface in Live midi preferences?
Is it selected as a 'Remote' device?
Does the keyboard (notes) play VST Instruments?

well the notes actually play things if thats what your asking

it does get noticed as an instrument as well... just the knobs and faders dont get noticed. well thats a lie ableton knows that it is recieving midi messages but cannot map them

if this means anything reason 4 seems to be detecting it fine

after some more extensive google searching i found the answer and it was quite simple, i will tell you in case other noobs such as i come along:

tell them to make sure that under midi/sync preferences that their midi device is set remote - on
