Indeed.
M-Audio is laughable.
This problem, actually, isn't new. It's just that people forget that it's been repetitive for them until they do it again.
They're VERY slow at releasing drivers for new operating systems, and even then throw caveats into the ones the release.
Most recently:
Vista 32 drivers finally started coming out (in any substantial way) 9 months after Vista release
Vista 64 drivers aren't even really on the map
Leopard (well, here's what they say: http://www.m-audio.com/news/en_us-1045.html), but they said similar about Vista, and months and months and months and months passed
Here's my favorite line from that page:
"M-Audio has a history of quickly bringing the benefits of significant new advancements in computer technology to the pro audio community"
No, no... you really didn't just say that.
Ah well.
Sell it and get something else (but don't get EMU, they're VERY similar in this regard).
I'm sure someone will step in and point out a experiences with M-Audio and EMU that are good, and I once thought that too. It's cool. But I'm done with both of those companies.
IMHO - You'd be better off searching for companies that have a history of maintaining a social contract with their customers regarding hardware support. What M-Audio and EMU fail to understand is that they're selling you hardware sure, but also the use of that hardware on new operating systems, at least for the lifetime in which that same hardware is still being sold by them.
Good luck,

Because they are too lame to build class-compliant drivers, my Oxygen-8 is in the closet--unusable with Leopard. Lame asses!
never again will i spend a dime on m-audio hardware.
