dango wrote:my m-audio firewire audiophile drivers still aren't fully compatible with tiger, i can't imagine how long it will take for leopard. fuck m-audio
no problems with tiger here

I'm wondering if there is some way around getting them to work on leopard, my interface wasn't listed in the preceeding post

i read that someone got an audiophile to work by installing the drivers for panther

I really want to get leopard but it seems that it will come with a few headaches

Post by silicon1138 » Sun Dec 16, 2007 5:09 pm

thanks a million for that midisport driver heads up. I was SEETHING that my oxygen 8 and it caused me a real headache for a few gigs.
I have just trashed the M-Audio Firmware Folder and installed that midisport thing.
Now my Oxygen 8 is working under 10.5 :D

Is this a bad thing for my poor little macbook?

Post by jesso » Sun Dec 16, 2007 7:31 pm

At gigs, I put my macbook on my bass amp. A gig could easily go on for 3 hours.
Could the constant vibration be bad for my wee macbook?
Its really convenient to have the laptop on my bassamp. Havnt had any problems yet, but I dunno. Maybe im being neurotic.
Has anyone had a macbook fail because of somekind of mistreatment that they did to it?
Big ups Santy Claus and dem elfs.

I am glad I didn't upgrade, seeing as though I use an fw1884. This is pathetic.

Oxygen 8 on craigslist for $40, almost bought it as my X-Station has to go to the shop, but damn? the only reason to own Maudio keyboard is because Live supports it as a Control Surface, and I doubt the patch allows for that. I'm almost there to leopard and parting with the Midisport 4x4 or using that patch is OK by me.
Thanks Ableton forums!

Because they are too lame to build class-compliant drivers, my Oxygen-8 is in the closet--unusable with Leopard. Lame asses!

never again will i spend a dime on m-audio hardware.

What?!!! I definitely won't defend m-audio. But I haven't updated the drivers on my Oxygen 8 since I bought it 4 years ago and it works fine within Live 7 and on Leopard. May be you should just plug it in and see if it works. I did get rid of my FW410 and got a Mackie Onyx 400F though. The 410 gave me fits, but the Oxygen 8 has never had a problem.

OK is goof to know you not have troubles.......
But i have troubles and other guys with other M-Audio have trouble too........

M-Audio have lot of time to have available drivers for LEOPARD and they dont do nothing........ i not say M-Audio its bad product, but its really bad support, or post sale support.
If you not have troubles, that is ok.........and really niced : )

Anyway i not like companys take long time for offer new drivers.
Imagine any person buyed new mac, just cant use lot of products from M-Audio or need buy tiger for downgrade lol........its really amazing, how companys are really LAZY to fix troubles.

The only one copany i know really listen to the customers its ABLETON

Axiom 49 seems normal as well.
Same here! I did need to reinstall the drivers after Leopard's install, but after that.... Like Butta!

if you are going to buy the audio8, check if it has got Phantom Power for the Mic Preamp. It think it has not, which could be a deal breaker...

UDP, are you sure?

Post by silicon1138 » Mon Dec 17, 2007 11:15 pm

Hi UDP, i'm not one to normally question other folk around here, but i'm intrigued by the fact you say your oxygen 8 is working under Leopard/macbook/live.
I've not read a single other report of an oxy8 working under 10.5, not just here, but in the trawling i've done over the last month or so trying to get answers/driver updates/solutions.

I have the same setup as you, but the oxy simple doesn't do anything. I can't play vsti's with it, i can't use it's knobs or wheels...It just doesn't output anything.

My M-Audio USB device works really smooth with leopard. I can also aggregate the M-Audio with other audio devices and I have no problems whatsoever. I am using the fast Track Pro at the moment..
