Anybody using Deckadance within Live?

Post by beats me » Fri Dec 14, 2007 3:09 pm

They haven't ported it over to Mac yet so I can't even mess with the demo but I saw that you can use it as a VST. I was wondering what the intergration is like or how just the features in general compare to Traktor.

Also the future promise of DMX lighting features really peaked my interest.

Mac port should arrive fairly soon - its in the final stages of beta testing.

There are a few quirks that are being worked on. Play list revamp is next main priority IIRC.

I tried it with XP and it works as long as you´re carefull which vsts you load up. Guess it depends how good your pc is.

From what I've heard the vinyl control doesn't currently work when Deckadance is a VSTi in Ableton. Other programs like Cubase works, so they have been working on a fix for a little while. Should be out soon.

Really the only stopping me from getting it.

But can someone correct me if I'm wrong??? Have they got vinyl control while using it as a VSTi in Ableton?

I'm on a Mac so I can't even use it yet but it would be great to have the functionality of something like Traktor within Live to also have synced access to clips, effects, and instruments.

Yeah having a DJ Program running in rewire with live as master is something i've been waiting for.

Ms. Pinky works great but doesn't have the features i want.

Torq won't let you "scratch" files while in rewire.

According to the site you can run Deckadance as a VST so you don't have to deal with rewire.

The update has arrived. I tried the demo, and it works, requires a lot of audio channels, and its not exactly pretty... but guess what!

We finally have Vinyl Control within Ableton, its slick, its powerful. And can use tons of different time code vinyl formats.

Looks and feels much better than ms. pinky.
