Best PC for Live

Post by eviljoker7075 » Sun Dec 16, 2007 11:52 am

Hey guys... just getting into live and I'm looking at getting a dedicated 'Live PC'. I'm toying with the idea of a laptop, but I prefer the option of a small desktop system. I am planning to use one of the small 'cube' cases.

Anyway, I'm just wondering, as I don't have a huge budget what is the minimum I need to get ableton live to run well? I'm also looking into getting a load of midi controllers, but not quite sure on what yet - more research is needed.

Any help you provide will be greatly appreciated - thanks :)

its kind of like asking "What kind of car will get me to Las Vegas"

any car will, its just 'how' you want to get there.

Are you running 1 plugin, or 50? Are you mixing a band thru it or are you DJ'ing?

Any new computer on the market will run Live just fine.

If it's a Alfa Romeo, then on the back of a tow truck most likely.

Get a Macbook Pro and run Windoze. Or don't.

ok that's a fair point...

well basically I will be using it for both live djing and production.

The DJing will be purely my own material, so lots of tracks, lots of plugins etc.

I apologise about my vagueness - what else would you need to know...?
