Hi,

Sorry, but I can't make out anything from your post. Live is able to read 44.1 Khz files, and 320kbps files..

Do you mean that for you, none of these files are working? Or just some? Do other sample rates/bit rates work?

Also, which version of Live are you using? Some Live lite versions don't feature compressed audio file support.

I use Live7.0.1.

All MP3 files (44.1 Khz files and 320kbps) reads is not to be, read there is no just mp3 file of a certain specification.
I tried reading also the mp3 file of other sample rates/bit rates, but there was no problem.
With my Live7.0.1 the MP3 file of specification (44.1 Khz files and 320kbps) just reading fails.
The same MP3 file (44.1 Khz files and 320kbps) it tried reading with ProtoolsLE7.3, ACID6PRO and CubaseLE, but with those software as for problem it was not.

Need Help.......

As for the MP3 file which is encoded with 320kbps, with the other companies software problem does not arise and with Live7 serious problem causes also the て. Depending, bug of the playback encoding of MP3 exists in Live7.

BUG!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

Can you send me one of these mp3 files (the smallest in size) you have that doesn't work, so that I can test it here? Please send it to [email protected].

PS: I seem to understand English is not your first language. If French is, you can write in French, it's mine too.

Hi

As for the MP3 file which has problem a little more than being to be 320kbps, the quantity are 8 MB.
Being to be, it is not possible to send with the mail.
I knew that Live uses QuickTime of Apple in encoding the MP3 playback. As for Live being the host sequencer which does not have the encoder for playback inside?

And ..........I am not French.

OK. I reducing the file in you, made to send. First from CD of the artist, WindowsMediaPlayer11 was used and the file which is encoded simultaneously to MP3 (320bps) was prepared, at SONY SOundForgfe8b file capacity was made to reduce in order to decrease file capacity next. In order to be able to prove the fact that from the same CD you encode simultaneously with the same software, I chose the file which has problem and the file which does not have problem from the album.

Hello,

Sorry for the assumption that you could be a French!

Live, on PC, can use the default Windows mp3 decoder, as any other application, but sometimes. Quicktime gives better results, so it is advised using Quicktime.

Well, I'm not sure what to advice now.. it seems that your problem is specific to either your system or your files, that's why I'd like to check one of them. Can't you use a free uploading service to send one?

Well I'm having some MP3 problems over here too. When I opened up a mix project from version 6.0.10 two files wouldn't load into the mix. It won't preview them either. Here's Lives status bar message when I click on these files:

Code: Select all

The file "foo.mp3" could not be read. It may be corrupt or not licensed.
I tried deleting the decoding cache, but same thing happens. One file is VBR, the other one CBR 320. Any ideas what may be wrong?

Tnx

As for me it had teaching solution method concerning the problem which cannot read the MP3 file to Amaury with the mail.

Live uses QuickTime for playback of the MP3 file.
The Live software - in inside, the MP3 file you use QuickTime and have converted to WAV.

In case of WIndows, DirectShow is used in the engine which is played back and in that case, file name must supply within 63.

This problem is the bug where with just AbletonLive is verified. Depending, as for you before mixing, it is necessary to verify whether file name is within 63.

When with such as WindowsMediaPlyer from CD it converts to MP3, because artist name, album name and tune name are added to all file names.

DJHao no offense intended but your English really sucks... ;-)
I somehow still managed to decode your post. The filename must be 63 characters long. I tried it and it works! But it still is a lousy limitation and Ableton crew should fix it.

Thanx anyway, DJHao...
