KORG MS2000BR AND ABLETON 7

Please bare with me as i am new to hardware and midi.

Im having trouble setting up my ms2000br with ableton 7 so i can record different sounds on different midi channels i.e base on channel 1, synth on channel 2 etc.

At the moment i have my midi keyboard controlling the ms2000br running through a midi track on channel 1(using external instrument) on ableton. i can only record one sound i.e a synth sound, i don't know how to then record a base line under it on a separate channel.

MIDI is just control signal. You don't "record" to it. MIDI allows devices to communicate with each other. You set up MIDI channels to send control data to your synth, and then record the output into audio channels.
