Newbie : Midi Mapping problem with version 7 and ReMote 25

I have an original Remote 25 keyboard that I an putting through my Emulator X card on XP into live 7.

I have audio and midi keyboard set up ok, and live is receiving midi messages ok from my keyboard. However I am trying to assign the control knobs to the effects rotaries in filters and flangers.

I clicked on "midi" so I got the blue squares, highlighted one and then turned the control knob but got "No Control" message. Does this mean live won't let me control it or I set up my card wrong ?

Totally newbie so any help or suggestions would be appreicated. thanks

using the data select knob, Select the "midi CC Learn" option. Then proceed to map. Once you reclick the midi map button in ableton to complete the map, the novation controller goes back to the ableton template as default. Just reselect the "midi learn" using the data select knob to see if your map worked.
