my pk sits there, looking around for something.

looks like an awesome idea though :)
Give it another go with RC3, we fixed some dependency problems.

FEATURE REQUEST: Could you "optionalize" the X/Y snapback?
Hey monty,

yeah, I reckon it could be done as a quick hack at some point... the info does reach max (the padKontrol senses when the xy is being touched, and relays that info too) - however I don't know how much time we'll have to do FRs over the next weeks - we'll see.

I'd prefer the x and y keys to be assignable midi keys so i could assign them to tempo nudge forward and back.. is that possible? If not i'll poke about in Max and try and do it myself.. once i get max ..

we were discussing the x/y *field*, which, in the basic configuration, snaps back to a preset position when you release it.

The X/Y keys in our app show/hide the browser and switch clip views.

Is Max required to use this?
Ableton’s engineers are hard
at work developing code that will allow our software to predict the future, but we don’t
anticipate having this available until at least the next major release.

No, it runs out of the box.

Here's a brief example of how you can set up the 5 ports on the app.

1) Select the MIDI driver to send the mackie control data over. I suggest using the built-in port of the app named "from PK [squared] 1". In Live's preferences, set a remote control surface to "Mackie Control" and set it to receive from that port.

2) This is set to send to the CTRL port of the PK

3) Use the second built-in port of the app named "from PK [squared] 2"

4) You can send notes from Live to control the lights on the PK. I suggest using IAC bus 1 for that.

5) This one is set to "Padkontrol 1 Port A"

Then click the "enter native mode" and you should be good to go.

Cheers

* edit: The two top knobs have parameter smoothing - the original firmware only had 32 steps on the faders!
Can you explain this? I recognized that the faders only do steps of 3 or 4 when moved slowly, but when you move them faster they transmit steps of 1 or 2. So it seems that the firmware does have more than 32 steps, just the knobs don't react accordingly. What does your "smoothing" do?

It ramps between the parameter values, to make the movement smooth. So, if it gets a 0, then a 5, then it will go 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 really quickly inbetween.

so far so BRILLIANT!!

just a couple of issues... mackie control is ace, but is this meaning i can't have Drum Racks automapping to the current focused rack of beats?

also i'm not quite sure about what outputs i need to setup in the midi setup in Live and i'm not getting any lights on the pads as yet..
