HUGE CPU usage with Tension

I'm getting MAJOR CPU isses

I have a set loaded with 1 MIDI track with tension

this is a core2duo 1.73 and it's completely freaking out with the "analog pad" preset in the 'new' folder playing just one chord

the laptop is set to "high performance' (vista) and FW410 buffer @ 512 smp

I'm guessing it's not meant to be quite that CPU hungry

I'm in XP now and there seems to be a significant improvement

well that preset was just an example - it's been pretty consistant

so I'm in XP now and it looks like the CPU meter is WAY lower than I was experiencing before in Vista, but I am still getting clicks and pops even when CPU shows it as only about 10-20%
