live crashes due to wrong VSTfolder, help!

Hello

I accidently picked my whole harddrive as my VSTfolder and now Live crashes everytime I try to boot it becasue it can't index all the files, what to do? Can I boot ableton without any vsts?

you could move, or if you're really sure about this, delete Live's preferences so it does not know the set VST folder location anymore..

Yep. Trash Live's preferences.cfg. On a Windows machine, it's in the folder (turn on show hidden files and folders in Windows' view menu):

Documents and Settings/*your user account*/Application Data/Ableton/*your version of Live*/Preferences.

I've found a reboot helps afterwards, though Ableton support says it's not necessary.

Now, start Live and reset your plugin folder.
