issue with master channel in Live 7

for some reason a project I am working on just went ape shit - the audio level meters are going on every channel except the master - I deleted every plug in off of the master channel and still nothing - the cpu meter stays at 255%!

if I close and open any other project it is totally normal - for some reason just this one is fucked and it seems to be something with the master channel

any suggestions?

edit: I can even render the master and it is fine but it will not p;lay back

Maybe some plug in is going bananas. I'm still in Live 6, and it happens sometimes, IMO more than it should.
