Session Drums: “Stereo Packages” Vs “LE Stereo Packages”

Post by murm » Sun Dec 23, 2007 6:52 am

I'm new to Live and confused about the way LE packages are used. The Session Drums disc-1 has “LE Stereo Packages” and “Stereo Packages”. What is the difference between the two?

I compose on my laptop which has less space in its hard drive than my main desktop studio machine. I was thinking of installing “LE Stereo Packages” on the laptop and “Stereo Packages” on my main desktop studio machine. If I compose on my laptop with “LE Stereo Packages” and then move the live set to my desktop will I need to replace all references to “LE Stereo Packages” with “Stereo Packages” manually in my live set?

So, how are others using the “LE Stereo Packages”? Anyone?

I'm after the answer to this as well, exactly the same position with laptop and no knowledge of LE packages...anyone?

I believe the LE versions are 16 bit - the "full" one is 24 bit. Just a space saver if you need it... but as far as usage goes - I would love to know the answer to this as well...

no documentation on the DVD on this issue

and the readme on the DVD omits this entirely

It's written in the Live manual :?

I can confirm that overall quality is a little lower when compared to 24bit version but all components of the Drum Kits are there and they load faster than the 24bits counterparts. All it's ok. They can even be used as is instead of the 24bits versions. If you are a Drummer you'll probably want to use 24bit samples because of their higher quality.
