http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Producer

Tough question, I'd be inclined to say Brian Eno but after reading the Wiki above I think the title covers too much ground for me to pick anyone in particular.
Anyone who responsible for bringing a production into existence is by definition a "producer".

Most of her good stuff (all of it?) is produced by other people though... for instance, Timbaland is all over Volta, and so on.

Any particular bjork-produced tracks to look out for?

Andreas.

Kinda cheapens the job title of the George Martins of the world. Too bad they couldn't have thought up a different word...
does the ten year old kid Im teaching to box cheapen Ali's title or stature? or does the thousands of grade school kids learning to play the guitar take down any of vais, vaughns or hendrixs stature?
