midi commands drop out

Hey everyone, whats up? I've got a massive problem. I've just installed Live 7.01 and everything works fine, except after perhaps 5 minutes of use the midi keyboard messages no longer get through to instruments. I can draw in notes and it plays them in a clip perfectly ok. Saving the set and then re-opening it gives me back the capacity to play synths with the keyboard.

The midi activity light still lights up even when the synths won't respond.

It's really an unlivable condition. Does anyone have any advice?

If you are using Windows try changing the Midi Port Type from DirectMusic to MME in Preferences (click on the small arrow left of the Midi port name).

Which MIDI interface are you using? (or Brand of your USB Key)? Which OS?

Timur, that seemed to do the trick. Nice one! 15 minutes of use and everythings behaving itself. I'm in your debt.

For the record, it's an Edirol FA-101 and an X-station 25 pumping in the good stuff.
