Pitchshifter
Pitchshifter
I would like to see a pitchshifting device..
A bit similar as Audiodamage Discord..
- loads of modulation options..
- grain functions
- etc.

Here's a pic of audio damage discord:
I would love to see that added; no doubt!

you can do pitch shifting with the grain delay, by turning sync off and setting the speed to the fastest setting, then playing with frequency and pitch... but yeah i see the sense in a clean pitch shifter like logic has..

I would love a pitchshifter too! Maybe in Live 10 (I'll be dead by then prolly)

wait, does logic8 have a REALTIME pitchshifter?nobbystylus wrote:you can do pitch shifting with the grain delay, by turning sync off and setting the speed to the fastest setting, then playing with frequency and pitch... but yeah i see the sense in a clean pitch shifter like logic has..
Anyway, I totally second this - perhaps even a dedicated mode in the grain delay to provide some more options, since you tend to get weird side-band artifacts in there...

Logic 6 and 7 had a real time pitch shifter, its nothing special, but it does exactly what you'd want, pitch up/down and can be automated..Machinate wrote:wait, does logic8 have a REALTIME pitchshifter?nobbystylus wrote:you can do pitch shifting with the grain delay, by turning sync off and setting the speed to the fastest setting, then playing with frequency and pitch... but yeah i see the sense in a clean pitch shifter like logic has..

Either that, or update the current pitch shifting \ time stretching algorithm that live uses (Elastique Audio Lite) to the Pro version or give something we can professionaly use! Live's Timestretching\Pitch Shifting engine isn't good enough for music production, If we could have something that equals to an pioneer djm600 sampler shifting quality, that would kick ass! (either way i'm uncertain about the quality of the djm600 shifter, been a long time since i used one can't remember but i remember it doesn't add LOADS of artifacts and loss of quality like the actual pitchshifting\timestretching engine that ableton uses!)

I have the audio damage dischord plug and it certainly does it's trick pretty well, but I've also just recently started playing around with live's grain delay and I do think that's pretty useful in that area as well. I'm not screaming for a realtime pitch shifter myself, although a device dedicated to that (maybe even with the possibility of more than one pitches at a time) could be pretty nice. I'm still happy with what I've got.
Yup...

Ha ha!! Maybe I should have said Live 100... But I know I will be quite disenchanted with Live by Live 8 if it keeps on going in the direction of being the ultimate DJ tool...
Someone said the transpose button... well it is a pitchshifter, true but it's not
automatable
transpose can be assigned to one midi controller only for all clips (works on the active clip only at one time)
you cannot have multiple-part harmonies (or disharmonies)
