syncing two macbooks via network (airport) not usable

Yesterday we tried to sync two macbooks via airport/network. It was sluggish as hell. Both computers had Live 7.01 installed, one is on osx 4.10, the other on osx4.11. Basically the slave would drift as hell, oscillating between 109bpm and 125 bpm, while the master was not having any changes in speed. We tried all different settings in the midipanel, but it was definetely not useable.

I know that I once did the same successfully with an ibook and a macbook on Live 6. Didn't notice those issues back then.

Anybody else has experiences with this?

I sync 2 Macbook pros running Live 6 and it works fine 99% of the time. The other 1% of the time is a bugger and I'm thinking it might be more sensible to use an ethernet cable at important gigs.
