Recording from two sources at the same time?

I am just starting to learn Live.
Can I record from two sources at the same time? I need for example to record drums via microphone through a mixer and a firewire interface on one track and guitar via USB (Zoom G2.1u).

Hi,

If your USB device, for the guitar, is "a soundcard", you won't be able to record both at the same time. But, you can of course record multiple sources, from the same soundcard. For instance, if your firewire interface has multiple inputs, you could record a microphone plugged in one of the inputs, in one track, and record the guitar plugged in another input of the same firewire device, on another track.

I have a Behringer FCA202 High-resolution 24-bit/96 kHz, 2 In / 2 Out FireWire audio interface.
I am not sure if the "2 In" represents 2 inputs like you say, or it just means 1 stereo input. Do you know that?

Hi,

You can indeed use the two inputs to record two different mono sources, such as the microphone + an instrument (can you switch between mic/instument input on this interface?), to 2 audio tracks in Live.

In Live, set the tracks to respectively receive Input 1, and Input 2, instead of Input 1&2.
