So you're into Ugly Betty than?beats me wrote:If there are 2 types of shows I don't like it's law dramas and police/detective/forensic dramas. If they threw in my 3rd least liked show type, medical dramas, then this would be my most hated show ever that everybody else thinks is awesome.
syke
that's funny though - imagine a Wire meets CSI meets ER meets Hero's meets South Park melodrama about some cambodian girls who go back in time to find their real father who's actually Darth Vader
airs Mondays on NBC
I'm like the ultimate hater here this week. Must be the holidays. I feel like one of the champs that responds to a problem on here with "my setup works fine".
I seriously don't get the greatness of this show but given the fact that I don't like these kinds of shows on any production level (CSI: Miami is the worst show ever produced) then I guess I probably will never understand the attraction. If they are cancelling it though there must be a reason. I'm sorry for being one of those reasons.

usually, like in the case of the Wire and the Sopranos the creators are the ones who call the shots...
The wire is probably hotter than it's ever been - one of the creators said it's time to end it while it's good
it's not TV it's HBO things are done different
and as far as hating goes - it's a dirty job but someones got to do it
With everything else on hold it will make my year to have this back on.
I will be getting it from here-

Now I'm just waiting for Burn Notice, Battlestar, and the rest of House and Heroes.

will be missed
yeah buddy, I'm watching season 4 again right now (via DVD) to get ready for this.
I woke up this morning and was thinking to myself, "what's gonna happen when Chris & Snoop go at Omar?"
my point being, most tv shows aren't at the top of my head first thing in the morning, just shows that it's a powerful show.

Yes. I soldiered through 2 of the first episodes and then called it quits.pulsoc wrote:have you ever seen it?beats me wrote:If there are 2 types of shows I don't like it's law dramas and police/detective/forensic dramas. Man I'm in Bmore...I just watch the news. Same shit, but it's real life instead of fantasy based on real life. I can't watch the Wire, I dunno...hits too close to home or something. It is a good show though, definitely. I just can't watch it for some reason.
Bmore sucks, but ya gotta love it.

Baltimore's unique but it's the same story in ghettos throughout the world
they've been hyping up the show with all these Wire retrospectives and one of the creators said something to the affect of
if people watch this show and don't see that's theres a problem in one of the wealthiest most advanced nations somethings wrong
Season 5 is all about the media so we'll see
Chris and Snoop after Omar? Huh, Omar's untouchable but someone big like that is going to die
kind of like when Brother Muzone and Omar cornered Stringer Bell - even my girl couldn't bear to watch that - and then you're like - "is that it?"
awesome series
season 1 - the drug war
season 2 - the ports / unions
season 3 - reform...tied all the crime, politics and underworld together so well
season 4 - education - where the stringers, bodies and wallaces came from
season 5 - the media
yeah, I love it
