Remote SL Automap not working in 7?
Well, maybe it is good idea to start? You seem to be highly motivated. Sent pm once again.
Despite the fact that due to all those shortcomings SL is unusable for me, they are cool people, their support is almost the best- naturally it is next to impossible to be better then Ableton support. As far as I am concerned it got even better, since a year have to reasons to contact them, in case of Novation I went for other option not to bother them- wait for product that actually works.

I got my Remote SL61 the other day and spent the entire day working with it. Nothing worked "out-of-the-box" but I anticipated that. After reading every manual, trying all settings and looking through ever single page of the menus I feel I have a pretty good grasp of the SL - it is a BEAST and very powerful. For most users that bought this because it promises not having to muck-around with settings, poor choice I say. Once you get comfortable with what it can do - it is amazingly powerful.
I've been wanting to get some Mackie-like features out of my controllers (after seeing the Total Kontrol package for padKontrol - drool!) and I didn't quite like the way the MCE SL packages worked. I modified template 40 with the Mackie controls I wanted and then setup a couple of key mappings for shortcuts using MidiStroke (OS X - the equiv of BOMES Midi translator for Windows).
Here is the mapping:

Here is the syx:

I'll post the MidiStroke file later but it's really just a mapping for Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete.
Oh and the "overwrte" key is actually for overdub and does need to be mapped in Live. I originally had it as the "Draw Toggle" but I use overdub more.
In Live - add "MackieControl" as a control surface and set it to ReMOTE SL (Port 1) for Input, no Output. Mark track and remote for the input and you're good to go (keep all the original RemoteSL settings)
