starting live after crashing

Post by djrevise » Mon Dec 31, 2007 5:34 am

I am using live 7 on a pc running windows xp with a motu ultralite soundcard. After live crashes, it won't start up again unless I reboot. Is this happening to you guys?

You don't need to reboot. Live is probably hanging on to your Ultralite's driver. This happens on my Windows machine when using a Midisport 8x8. I pretty much turn off the power switch on the 8x8x and turn it back on quickly.

Before I turn off the power I can see Live in the Windows Task Manager. Even if I try to 'End Process' Live won't quit. Try this...

Try to End Live's process in the Task Manager...
Turn off the Ultralite's power and turn it back on...
And watch Live magically disappear from the task manager.

Restart Live and get back to work. :?
