Hi All,
I just purchased the Delta 1010LT sound card. I'd like to use Live Lite6 to capture audio from a Tascam 122mkIII tape deck, but I need to make sure I have Live6 setup correctly to capture audio.
My computer has the following specs...
Windows 2000 Server SP4
Dual Pent3 1.0mhz
1g Ram
The following image has two separate channels 1&2 from the Cassette Deck to Delta Sound card. Can someone tell me if I have this setup correctly or can I use "1/2" for both channels, instead of having them separate?

Also can someone tell me if I have the following configured correctly for 2 channel auto from tape deck device?

How do I know if the following is setup to mono or stereo?

Thanks!

Verify First Time Setup using Live 6.0.10 with Analog device
OK, starting with the third image, checking off both options tells Live that it can use inputs 1 and 2 either seperatly or as a stereo pair. In Live when you select the inputs, if you choose 1/2 you can record a stereo signal in one row.
In the second picture, you should use ASIO as the driver type. Once you switch it to ASIO you should double check that you have all of your inputs and outputs selected, at least the ones you want to use.
Once all of this is set up, you can record from the tape deck in one row of Live by using 1/2 as your inputs. This will keep the stereo signal recorded into one file.
Let me know if this doesn't make sense. I haven't used Live Lite, so I'm not sure what exactly is different.

Thanks for the quick response!Sumatra wrote:OK, starting with the third image, checking off both options tells Live that it can use inputs 1 and 2 either seperatly or as a stereo pair. In Live when you select the inputs, if you choose 1/2 you can record a stereo signal in one row.

I believe I made the correct change but my inputs are on 3/4 shown below, and my outputs options are the same as my input options which have 3/4 highlighted in yellow. When I render and play wav file I can't hear anything. I also can't hear during playback threw my speakers either. Not sure if the master is set correctly, but my only options for the master are 1/2 channels. Not sure what I can do, but go back to the other setup I had before.
Any suggestions?

You can check off any and all input and output options. I have all 24 inputs selected as both individual and stereo pairs for my MOTU 24i. Once you do this you can record multiple tracks/sources at once. You should be able to monitor the signal as long as your speakers are hooked up to the outputs that are set for the master output. Live will do the routing for you. You can record on all 8 inputs at the same time and let Live send everythin out of one stereo pair, for example 1/2.
Hope that helps.

The only speakers I have are just regular desktop speakers (2.1) plugged into the onboard sound card.Sumatra wrote:You can check off any and all input and output options. What I would do is get a Y cable. One of those red and black RCA to 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo (like a headphones plug). Hook the RCA ends up to outputs 1 and 2 and the 1/8" (3.5mm) plug into your speakers. If you want to use your onboard sound card for things like games, you may need to get a headphones splitter. If you're in the US, go to Radio Shack or Best Buy. Either place should be able to sort you out.
