Live 7 and Reason: what good is the ext. instrument device?

but I mean saving it as an external instrument patch, so that you can load reason devices from the live browser

How do you do that exactly?
I've tried to do that but no luck

so i dont have to startup the reason file myself.. it will load automaticaly?

No, you still have to load up your file in Reason.

would be nice if a future 7.0.x update would allow remote bank/programme changes to external synths via midi from within Live (or that already possible with external instrument?)

You can already do that,

In the MIDI clip view you can select

Bank Sub bank and Programme (I think that's what they are called)

Sends the programme change info to your synths, invaluable really.
