Live 7 And Kontakt 3

Post by pierce200 » Fri Jan 04, 2008 5:41 am

Opening K3 as AU is crashing Live.
This is new.
Everything updated at Service Center.
Anyone with similar problem?

works fine as VSTi here (not sure it helps you much, though...).

Have you run K3 in standalone and rebuilt your database?
If not, do so and reboot your machine.

K3 works in stand alone.
I'm never prompted to rebuild the database. (Have been before)
How is that accomplished?
Incidentally, I'm on my 2nd set of discs due to
faulty and/or corrupt DVD's.
One orchestral disc in the new set produces an error.
I've uninstalled K3 completely and I'll try again when I've got about 11 hours free
to stare at the computer.
I've got the whole Abe she-bang library suite. Maybe I'll just use it singularly.
Embrace the sonic limitations and and have a little extra CPU.

I've found it's best to use custom folders for your database. To set those, go to your options menu and under the search/DB, name your folders. For me, I just use my main NI sample library folder (which contains the samples for all my NI instruments).

In the browser window, click on the database tab, and then click on the rebuild DB tab. Let it rebuild, close Kontakt and reboot your system. Done.
