crackles when editing with a mouse or remote sl
http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=80486
I personally I have this problem though I don't have a remote sl, but in the other thread most people said they were using a remote sl. when I edit effects with a mouse (like auto filter) I get lots of crackles on VERY basic sets.
small sets, no 3rd party plugs, cpu at 7% on a quadcore machine 3gigs of ram.
THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS KIND OF PERFORMANCE.
NO CRACKLES IN LIVE 6.
get it fixed.

It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.
Same here
Hey all,
I just joined this forum...
because I experience the same issue since I've upgraded to live 7.
From there click, freezes or crackles happen very often, every time when I change a parameter and not even use plugins.
One time I had a blue screen which was the first ever on my VAIO .
Live 6 no problems... but didn't use v6 much, because I bought it to just before v7 was released.
Did try several audio and midi settings in prefences tab, but didn't work out at all.
Will check if disabling the remote will solve issue.
Config:
Sony VAIO duo T2300,1.66 GHz
Remote SL25
Focusrite Saffire Pro i/o10
Hopefully this can be solved easily, but since more users experience this I will monitor this thread and the future v7 update with great interest.
Cheers

We should try to keep all these snap/crackle/pop threads in one place and keep complaining until the Abes fix this. It happens to me too with NO remote sl. I get it with my Korg PadKontrol. I get it with the mouse. It doesn't show up when rendering but it is certainly a problem live. It's hard to reproduce becuase it seems to be random but it definitely happens during the use of those devices. This did not happen in L6.
Live 8.4.2 / Win 8 Pro 64 bit / Core 2 Quad 2.66 GHZ / 8 Gb ram
Presonus Firepod / Axiom 49 / PadKontrol
Various guitars, keyboards, sax and friends

issue still not solved
So I still didnt solve this issue.
in this forum I've read this is a known bug, but whats the solution if there is any available.
Disconnecting the Remote SL seems to solve the problem but is ofcourse no good ... Just like using v6.07 ain't good
anybody did already had contact with the support team about this?

Bump, scratches, cracks and mac os leopard 10.5.1 blackscreens...
Live 7 keeps crashing on the regular, 3 times since yesterday, and I´m only using built-in instruments as operator and simpler. I haven´t figured it out yet if it´s Live 7 or Leopard that is unstable. Probably both. This often happens when I try to adjust a knob with the mouse. Live 6 + Tiger where smooth as hell.
I´ve got a setup with 9 operators and some fx on them (max 4, all built-in) and the CPU load jumps between 22-33% (internal soundcard) 36-57% (Edirol FA-66 audio interface) on a MacBook Pro 2.33Ghz Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM. Latency Buffer size is 1286 samples with a latency of 9ms with a Edirol FA-66 and it stills crackles. Even if a rise it to 1472 samples with a latency of 10ms this shit still crackles. Live 7 suppose to have a new audio engine to keep the CPU load low. Exspensive disapointments.
What´s your setup/settings?

All of you who use USB midi devices (Padkontrol, Remote SL) with Windows: go to Preferences, click on the little arrow left to your Midi port and change Port Type from DirectMusic to MME.
All of those who use Live 7 with Window Vista, check here:

All of those who use Live 7 with Mac OS: Bad luck!

@ Timur
Thanks for you feedback.
I tried these settings before and just tried again but doesn't make any difference.
I've changed all in- & outputs of my remote and saffire pro i/o 10
@Chicle777
Setup is very variable... but it happens all the time. If I use vst or only live plugins/instruments, it doesn't matter. Also tried latencies up to 20ms and all plugin buffer sizes, but didn't help either. I'm completely lost you can say

I was experiencing these clicks until user qbical suggested going over my midi device setup and I did this:
Apparently I am a novice device setup user as well. I took your suggestion and went over the midi setup. I had too many options selected, I believe. I reset everything to off and restarted my configuration. I am currently using a padKontrol and an Axiom 49. I configured each in the instant mappings and setup only input from each in the manual settings section. This seems to have gotten rid of my pops, glitches and even mousing problems. It is a bit early to say, but I haven't had a glitch since. Sounds like your "midi feedback" analysis is somewhat correct, at least there is something in terms of a conflict. Good call!
I've tried saturating the midi bus and mousing to get clicks and now unable to. Looks like this worked for me.
