Problem with submenus and vst windows being distorted

Post by gtmb » Fri Jan 04, 2008 12:46 pm

Live ver. 7.0.1
My PC:
Dell Inspiron 6400, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GHz, 2GB RAM, Ableton Live
7.0.1, Edirol UA-25, ATI Mobility Radeon X1400

Problem:
submenus and vst windows being sometimes distorted and disappears
partly or completely. Please have a look at the attached url to screendumps:

http://www.mediafire.com/?eexoj2owxwz

Whenpointing at the distorted part it usually partly comes back. Problem
sometimes temporarily is solved when "reloading" or "show/hiding"
submenu or vst instrument. Haven't experienced this in any other
software.

please help!

I'm also experiencing screen redraw problems (with ATI card)

Live ver. 7.0.1
CPU: Quad 2 Core Q6600
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD2600XT
OS: WinXP Pro, SP2

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem - which is quite disturbing and breaks the workflow!

screenshot2 (File-menu opened and mouse over some items):

I tried the newest catalyst driver (7.12) from ATI as well as the "original" driver from the installation CD (7.8, August 2007).

Any help or workaround would really be appreciated - paid work has to be finished ;)

Last week, on my old PC with a really old Radeon 9000 (and Live 7.0.1) everything worked fine (but the PC has gone ...).

I solved it by uninstalling my intellimouse software and drivers - mouse works fine without them and problem gone!

hi gtmb,

thank you very much! That helped me, too.

Strange, but true ...

I checked an older driver version (5.5) from the MS website: it works without any side effects to Live 7!

... I like to assign "doubleclick" to one of the small side-buttons :)
