Latency Problem---HELP
Latency Problem---HELP
Ive been trying to record direct guitar parts into Live 7 but I have a latency problem. I run my guitar to a Line 6 POD X3 Effects Pedal, then connect the pedal to my laptop using USB. I have tried adjusting the buffer size and it doesnt help. If I get too low, it crackles/cuts out. When I increase the buffer size to where the crackling stops, the latency is too high and causes too much delay.
I heard of delay compensation....what is that?
Would it help if I had a midi interface?
I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

.
My main computer I'm using a M- Audio audiophile 192, its not the best card but its gotten the job done for me. Its pci and I don't think it was more than 200 bucks or so.
I hope I've helped, I know how it is to buy something that doesn't do the job. Ive learned alot in the past year or so. Also check out some computer music mags. if you get a chance, they post rate reviews on every piece of gear out their. and tips too.

Recording problem
I figured out the Latency issue. It took some adjusting but I got it. Im having a problem recording now. My guitar is plugged in and Live detects it under midi/sync. I can hear my guitar as well. But, my guitar isnt listed under Plug In Devices. I need it there so I can drag it to the audio clip to start recording. Why is my guitar not listed under Plug In Devices?
Is there another way to drag an external instrument to the audio clip for recording?
