ok i have just finished recording a set and there are a couple fo bits where i want to use auto filter etc.

I dragged the clip from session into arrangement view and started using automation with record on on the bits i wanted to edit. I finished up. Deleted the old clip out of Session view and dragged the new edited into the session view. I then saved it and exited. When i got back in and listed to the set nothing had freaking saved. None of the Automation or anything.

I just want to edit certain parts. I tried doing it from session view but as i only want to edit little parts here and there in the set The bits i did edit went into arrangement view as different clips so it does not work out either as it jumps from one bit i edited to the other and misses out complete chunks of the song.

What am i doing wrong? Please help i just spent ages editing only to find it didn't save after all that!

Thanks

automation recorded in arrangement is located in arrangement. You can't copy it back into session view. (except if you by copy/paste each envelope separately)

When you do automation/editing in arrangement and you want it back in session view, there are several possibilities: rendering (one or various or all channels with all edits and effects etc. into one stereofile), freezing/flattening (one channel with all edits and effects), consolidating (onec channel, only edits, but no effects). Check them in the manual.
