yep it might have touch screen [+1]
but
doesnt integrate with your sequencer like the TI - no vst front end [-1]
50 less voices [-1]
2000 less internal patches [-1]
its GBP170 more expensive [-1]
access 4 : roland 1
home win.
im sounding to much like a fan boy here - but in all seriousness it is a very good unit and recommend one to anybody.

Stutter effects were made famous by artists including Aphex Twin, Trentemoeller, Squarepusher, BT and many others. In order to create those effects they either had to chop audio regions by hand or use semi-automatic plug-ins (which don't necessarily give you a great deal of control since they are intended to create random results). Atomizer works in a totally different way — once sync'ed to tempo you can play those slices in realtime, so you can virtually chop up your singer's voice while he's performing or add unique effects to your DJ set. You can record the slicing process into your sequencer and edit it later along with the rest of your song. You can remix in realtime as well, with the modulation wheel becoming an intelligent cross-fader, while the pitch-wheel lets you change the pitch by approximately 4 octaves. And there are tons of effects including sample rate and bit rate reduction algorithms which, again, can be used in realtime and become a part of your performance"
all of these come for free as a TI owner. awesome!!!
Roland V-Synth
exactly, there is always another option. Anyways, IMHO, there are just too many with a Virus now. I couldn't do it I think.
I mean, become yet another electronic musician with an access virus. HA it may be the best synth the world has ever seen..... maybe...
but really... put me down for the waldorf sound... I reckon I will go there.
cheers
i dont understand that comment.
im pretty sure a fender strat has been used on one or two records in the past. "i cant be a guitarist now as all these other guitarist' have guitars".
its an instrument. just use it with originality - or just knock out some fat basslines and enjoy yourself. who cares. if you want a waldorf go for it, but throw down on something you want [and suits you] not just because nobody else has one.
for ages i wanted a JP8080 [sold my MS2000 for it] and regretted it right away - just didnt work for me.
im just waxing lyrical as you get a great synth [IMO]. theres a reason why they are popular

I want to ask if this will drop the price on other Virus models, the answer is probably no but I leave it out there for someone to reply that everyone is dumping all their Virii for Snow dirt cheap on ebay. please.

so than there are a few of us on the Waldorf crew huh?

Personally if I was gonna get hardware I would need to get something with more knobs, and/or analog. Kinda defeats the purpose for me to have a 4 knob piece of gear. I do like the Waldorf sound though, yes.
okay here ya go

here are some other reasons for buying a TI...
one:
"OS 2.7 furthermore increases the amount of audio streams from the TI into the Virus Control plug-in by 50% and adds input side chaining capabilities. This way, users can send audio from the host sequencer into the Virus' sound engine all digitally, process it with the TI's filters and FX and finally loop it back into the sequencer"
two:
"The new operating system also increases the amount of ROM sounds to 26 banks with 128 patches each (that's, including the RAM banks, a total of nearly 4000 onboard sound patches)"
three:
"Access Music shows a technology preview of Atomizer on the winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California. Atomizer allows you slice and dice audio in realtime using a MIDI keyboard. Stutter effects were made famous by artists including Aphex Twin, Trentemoeller, Squarepusher, BT and many others. off the top of my head, the differences between the access virus C and the TI are the VST bit and two oscillators [wavetable & granular]
maybe more voices too.

Too many to post really.
C's added the EQ and Moog style filter, more voices, and dual effects.
Ti's got new D/A's and A/D's, the whole TI and Vrus Control thing, much better laid out parameters and screen, more voices, way more memory for patches, more effects, wavetable and grain cloud synthesis, better arp programming, +more.

I could buy a bloody Nord Stage 88 for less than a Virus Ti here in Australia.
So enough said on where they can shove the pricing on this unit.
Actually I can get an all analog Alesis Andromeda for less than a Ti here in Australia brand spankin' new.
Like OMGWTFBBQPPL !!!!!!!!!!!! - what utter bullshit.
Somewhere between a rock and a hard place is actually nowhere.
