I had a rist custom one made years ago while I was over America, fender shape, fat neck, big headstock, floyd rose and seamor duncs pickups, I love it!
Really in to my practise again, been inspired by the cool sounds of the Line 6 products

Thanks, yes all me that one. Drums are a bit rough and ready...might revisit that one day.mooseymoo wrote:nice tone there dude! Love the delay to. You do this track all yourself?Seyser Koze wrote:click my sig and go to the UKRuss tab, tracks, and then first track "Acoustic Assault"
nice at 3.30 when the other melody comes in
The acoustic parts are through a semi and I was surprised by the tone...but i used lives native effects to compress and EQ etc.
The lead is through GR2
the synth bit is an Apple Loop...but dont tell anyone.

Im a guitarist and in my band and i use live to compose and perform... i have a foot controller next to me, i mainly just trigger off clips and loops and midi stuff, but im expanding, i want to loop my live playing and then move on to the keyboard on the same track or something like that.. i don't use live as an effects processor, i'm going to send midi out to my kaoss pad and use that instead. Im trying to really cut down the time that i have to look at the screen.

I use a Charter Oak 538b and an AT 4050 as LDC's--I like both.Seyser Koze wrote:
Anyone recording acoustic into Live with multiple mikes? If so, what mikes do you prefer. I am having limited success with cheap dynamic mics...thinking about taking the plunge for a more expensive condenser pair.
Thoughts?
For a truer to life sound, an SDC would be useful (but you cannot use those well for vocals). A good value is the Shure SM81. I have a stereo pair.
I'll usually go with an X-Y config about the 12th fret. Then I'll usually use an LDC more distantly and make sure I've captured the DI (since my Martin and Taylor are electroacoustics). The more options the merrier.
Martin AND a Taylor?! I hate you.
FUCK the Lemur when you can get gear like that.
I've generally found Taylors are better than Martins, any opinions?
I love using Live with guitar. either to slow parts down to learn them, or loop a segment to solo solo solo solo solo solo over, or just making really stupid songs. I also have a midi guitar which is a trip to play on.

I think it depends on the Martin and it depends on the Taylor. It depends on what you want. The Taylor I happen to have is a step up from the Martin I have, but both are respectable. Martin's are generally darker, Taylor's are lighter and cut through a mix. Martin's have a great warmth about them.
In response to the original post. I used to have a POD XT Pro, but sold it since I have found Guitar Rig 3 to be a very adequate replacement. What I'll usually do is DI the guitar for reamp purposes and record the reamp with microphones.
