Okay, it's got to the point where I've gotta ask.
I have an audio file 2 minutes long in arrange view, the track is not expanded so I only see the colored bar, no audio image or automation.
On the PC, if I want to select a chunk of that track, say 15 seconds or so. I would hold down alt, click anywhere on the colored bar and drag my selection.
On the Mac, i cannot find a key equivalent for this. All the key combos I have tried just select the entire 2 minute chunk, select from the end of it till where I clicked, or don't select it at all.
It kills me to have to expand the track, make my selection, and then collapse the track again.
Help me mac gurus, wtf is the key combo to select a bit of a track without expanding the channel in arrange view!!

That's a funny one. I don't have the answer, but just messing around now I found that "fn"+selection worked, but only if I was in the correct context/state beforehand. If, for example, I'd previously right-clicked (or ctrl-clicked) on the track, clicked directly on the track to cancel the context menu, then the fn+selection worked ok. Otherwise it wouldn't work and just always select the whole clip. Strange... Bug?
