Its silly pricing because the trends in music, always start at the bottom, and then rise to the top...

Its just a shame, in the hardware synth world, nothing new is coming about. And software is great, but lacks something that hardware does provide. Although I can't quite place it...

arrg. I am interested in the blofeld...

Ditto on both counts. Im glad manufacturers are starting to see that musicians might want tabletop synths now, but so many are still missing the mark making self contained beauties.

Blofeld looks pretty cool for the money, wish it had a dedicated sequencer though.

Yikes, has everyone heard the demos of the Snow on the Access Snow Ti page? My god. Those have to be the best demos I've ever heard.

Nova Musik has this listed on their site for $1,250. Only $100 off of the MSRP. It's tempting. 'm sure there will be more drool worthy news at NAMM this week. It really sounds good. Really, really good.

The Blofeld is cool no doubt, but this Access Snow looks to be a pretty amazing peice of gear.

new virus ti desktops for $1,600 on the ebay. snow for $1,250 ...... keep saving, you're almost there.

or alternatively, spend your dough on this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ACCESS-VIRUS-TI-WAV ... dZViewItem
and put the money you'll have saved towards a future retro XS or nord rack 3.
sorted.

so can you edit or make new patches for the snow using the vst software or does that have to be done in the hardware?

i have a little nord micro with only 4 knobs but the power of that thing lies in the software editor and the fact that once you're done editing you save the patch back in the synth.

well, if it is just a scaled down version of the TI, then you can edit and make patches using the software as well as the hardware.

looks pretty tasty but, sure looks like more fun than my current virus classic desktop, sick of lugging that thing around to gigs, who cares about knobs....just assign parameters to your SL or something.

Man what a bunch of dicks Access Virus and the people selling them... $1300 is no where close to affordable for someone that goes to school and pays all theri own expenses. I'm just really mad right now. Shit, for that kinda money I could buy another macbook, or a sub for my satellites, or a RME Fireface 400. I'm just going to drop the loot cakes on Massive, PSP Vintage Warmer, Fab Filter Pro C, and Volcano.
I'm pretty sure they're going to be shaking in their lederhosen knowing they won't get my dirty penny, but fuck 'em. I'v demoed the piss out of the bundle i've put together to know I can rival most Virus reeses. And oh yeah, screw the atomizer, that thing sounds like shit..

Shaking in their lederhosen? :D

I'm going to pick up the Snow. I'll put some of George W's $600 towards it so then, you know, it's really only $650!!

I will admit that atomizer does sound terrible. It makes everything sound like a Kit Clayton b-side... yuck.
