making clips longer

lets say i have recorded a 4 bar long audio clip.

after that i want to have more silence after the audio, i want to be the clip 4 bars longer before it starts repeating.

how can increase the length of a clip???

open in an audio editor, then add silence to end. then trim as needed. not very productive.

or,

copy the same clip and drag it below the current clip in session view. then set the follow commands to launch next clip after playing previous. just mute the volume in the sample properties of the second clip and label it as a rest. set the muted clip properties to play previous or other or something similar.

3rd way: copy clip to Arrange view. Draw a 4 bar silent clip after it.
highlight both, hit consolidate. Copy that back to the session view.
