How to playback multiple loops like Reason does...?

Post by GDlux » Thu Jan 24, 2008 2:18 am

When a REX loop is triggered in Reason's Dr. REX loop player while another loop is playing it doesn't start at the beginning of the loop but rather at the precise beat of the measure that coincides with the other loop that is playing.

To make sure I'm clear I'll give the example that a drum loop is playing and I have a keyboard loop that goes with it. If i trigger the keyboard loop 3/4 into the measure of the drum loop, it will begin playing at its own 3/4 point.

Is this possible in Live? I feel like I've read everything but just don't know enough to figure it out.

in legato mode a clip will start at the same point as what was playing before it in the track... so in your example maybe you just need to add a blank or muted loop in the keyboard track and then set the real loop to legato. I'm still in live 5, maybe it's even easier now, but check that out.

You can change the quantize of the loop to 16th or whatever.
By default, it's set to global - if global is set to 1 bar, it will only play in the next bar.
