Will tempo control always be controlled by a circle

i wonder how long it will last. the use of a wheel to control tempo as though you were using a record, a disc. To whom it may concern, what are thougths about this im not against it just wondering.

I've been controlling tempo with rhomboids for years.

Huh??? You use a *slider* to control tempo - nudging (or a wheel for heathens) is to get it in sync.
