MT4 installation problems

:? Hi there,

Can anyone please tell me how to configure my g4 800 to run live with an emagic mt4 midi usb interface - I can't get live to recognise it. I have managed to get my metric halo I/O up and running with it, but can't get the midi side of things sorted out - I am using the demo version at the moment while I wait for my retail copy of live to arrive, and so I don't have a manual to explain the process.

hi wisemonkey,

it works on my pb (g3).

1. you MUST use oms!
2. make shure oms detects the mt4
3. save oms setup, eg as "my mt4"
4. reboot (always useful)
5. start live, mt4 should be in the prefs.

Hey BigBass,

Thanks for the tip - much appreciated - I've installed oms and now the mt4 is now coming up in the preferences box. Only thing is, now the midi notes I'm sending to live don't seem to be registering - I've tried to assign midi notes to trigger off the loops, but live isn't reacting to midi.

What's up with that?

Still no luck

I've even downloaded the latest version of the unitor mt4 drivers from emagic and copied them into the oms folder. What am I doing wrong? The mt4 is registering midi information is being sent to it, but nothing is registering in live - I know the mt4 works because I've used it with logic.

Can anybody assist?

Success! I reinstalled all the drivers and checked "run midi in background" and selected ports 1 to 4 in OMS and I now have midi response. I've tried to explain my joy to the wife, and though she nods politely, I don't think she understands.
