This is all built in to monomeserial...well sort of built in, you can type in the row offset and as soon as you do itll offset by the amount of rows ( or Columns ) that you specify. What ive been thinking about is how to script monomeserial, so you can hit a key command say "Cntrl + 8" and that will enter an 8 into row offset, same for ctrl + 1, 2, 3...An alt + 3... would work the same for columns. So that would instantly give you more rows, hit Ctrl + 0, and your back to the first 8. Or even if you wanted to use toggles on the monome for this....

yeah, but I am talking about physically adding two or four more buttons to the monome itself, so you don't have to go back to the computer for that. It would, in essence, free up ALL 64 pads for use with the controller itself.

when i was originally researching the Lemur, i heard rumors of touch latency. i.e. if you wanted to do some rapid retriggering on buttons you would be SOL

Yeah they sure did! 2 mins...daaymn.

I decided last night not to get one. I think that supply is low ends up making them more desirable just in and of itself. Even though they're not expensive, I need to cool it with buying music gear.

I'm going to fool around with Mike's PK native mode software this week instead. I should be taking time to learn and use the toys I already have!

now that would be messed up.. and totally different then buying two kits, building them, and passing one on

really i probably would end up keeping both.. a split 128 does seem sweet!

wow, 2 minutes.

check ebay in a few weeks once they ship to see how many d0uche_bags bought one for profit. you know it happened, how does that make you feel Doc?

I hope tehn can keep cranking these out. he's a very generous person and published the schematic and source code on his site. there's still some obstacles to overcome like developing nice squishy buttons but it wouldn't be hard for someone to create competition for him.

sorry to say this...
IMO he needs to raise the price a bit and increase his profit margin so he can put up the cash to buy more parts at once. it's gotta be scary paying out $10k or more to get parts for stuff you haven't made yet for orders that haven't been placed. with more cash on hand he can put up a larger supply.

Now Tone,

I would like to point out there is a big difference between doing work, and not doing work.

not doing work.. that's the republican way in the analogy you posted yesterday.

doing work.. now thats more like the hippie deadhead roots i have..

I'v crafted and sold many things in my journey down the road..

Hey! Thought I'd bring my whiny bitchiness over to this thread of similar topic. I have no doubt somebody bought a shitload to sell later. With the cool vibe of the monome people and community it would be cool if they limited the amount people could purchase at once, or maybe they do. I couldn't clock in in under 2 minutes to find out. Did they have any doubt these would sell out?

I'm going to go off and buy a Wii now. Oh, wait.

I don't completely follow you but I'll say I never doubted that you're a good guy and someone I share a lot of similar views with. it is a smart move to consider buying two and selling one, it's just in this case it doesn't quite work, for reasons we've discussed.

one thing for sure, this isn't something you see everyday.

I want a Wii because I can't get one. 8O

The logic is flawed you're right..

but every time i think about it, my mind goes right back to:

if i build one, i should build two
