Logic, Live, Recycle, and then Email
I'm starting an email type of music endeavor with a friend of mine who is using logic. I'm on Live 7 and also have Recycle. Was wondering what all of you out there might think is the most efficient way of exchanging files and ideas . We have already been sending each other AIFF. files. Wondering if REX files might be better and if they even work with logic. And what about MIDI files? any comments would be of great help, Thanks
In this day and age it is very unlikly that any application would not read MIDI files.
As far as collaborating between Logic and Live.
If the version of logic is above version 5.1(?) then it will read REX files, if the version of Live is at 7 then it will also read REX Files,, neither will make them.
My advice would be to stick with sending each other the aiff files,, unless you are primarily using softsynths and you both have the same synths and version numbers,, in which case it would probably be better to create a user bank in the softsynths for any sound design you make,, then send a copy of that sound bank along with the midi data.

Thanks for the reply. I'll keep doing what I'm doing, I'll make some Rex files in recycle and see if the hold the groove a little tighter. But most of what we are exchanging will work just fine as aiff files.[/url]

"tubePlug runs as a VST/AudioUnit plug on MACOSX 10.3.9 or higher (universal binary Intel/PowerPC) and as a VST plug on Win9x, WinME, WinXP. You can use your favorite audio host (e.g. Cubase, Logic, Plogue Bidule, MAX/MSP, PD, etc.). It can connect several tubePlug users via the internet and allows high quality multichannel audio exchange between them and the t-u-b-e venue."
