I'm into my psy/Goa stuff, so I like that. Nice use of the stereo field in building your soundscape 8)

Thanks! It's really fun to work at this faster tempo!

I'm digging the stereo effects on this a lot as well. Instead of just relying on simple panning, I'm now also using techniques like delaying one side by 20-30 ms, panning oscillators, slightly detuning one side, etc. These seem to widen the stereo field without changing the balance, and are a bit more subtle than simple panning.

The melody in this track is my first experiment in 12 tone composition. 12 tone makes a lot of sense to me for psytrance since it deliberately undermines tonality, which could be analagous to "normal" states of consciousness.

Psytrance operates a little differently than traditional 12 tone though, since the bassline solidly determines key, but I try to retain as much of the essence as possible. So, this melody plays every note once and then plays a modified version of the sequence backwards, with each note again played only once. I think it worked out to be a pretty good little melody since it manages to be melodic without being cheesy, and sounds "strange" without being obvious so.
