Thanks. The murals are inspired by Lords of Acid: "VooDoo You". I had some Tagger friends of mine paint them.

Just rearranged... Sorry for the cell phone shot.
(Added 2 more cinder blocks and some mopads for the correct angle. Moved my laptop to a more ideal spot. Moved my main monitor to my left.)

Isn't it supposed to be bad to have your monitors on their sides like that?

Nope.
As long as the woofers are on the inside. Preference really...

All other rules apply:
A) Mixing position = 38% in to the room.
B) Should be placed at ear level or aiming at the ears, 3-6 feet apart in a tri-lateral position...

They used to be at exact ear height but I needed some more room so I raised the hutch up and angled them... This can create reflections off the desk if its too close, but they are up quite high.

I wouldn't say "Bad",,
You should have them so that all frequencies meet the ear at about the same time,,
If Kaffein had them standing up then he/she might miss some of the higher frequencies coming from the tweeter,,,
Some people also think that you get a better more centralized bass image with the speakers laying down and the drivers set the way they are in the picture,,
I know of studios that have a set lying down for tracking,, and then a couple set up standing up for mixing,, the reason being that most listening environments at home have the speakers standing up,,
I'm not sure there is a hard and fast rue,,,

I really like it, had it for about 7 months now and I have no complaints. Works great with ableton and lets me kind of throw together ideas with minimal mouse use.

Thanks man, there isn't much in terms of gear and what have you, but I really like this space. I can do whatever I want down here in terms of music, Djing, art, etc.

Oh sorry, I guess Simon Pegg isn't so big in USA. Well now you know, you look kinda like a comedian whos really popular in Western Europe called Simon Pegg.

He actually had a small part in Mission Impossible 3 (I think it was 3)

Anyway...
